JACBO KNOWS

The "Jacbo Knows" Story

Since he was a toddler Jacob always appreciated and had opinions on food. If he was asked if he wanted cheese on a sandwich his response was “pepper jack only” versus “yes.” During these years he rated his meals at home or in restaurants as “tasty” or “average.” As he grew his ratings became thumbs up, thumbs middle or thumbs down.In August 2024 on a trip to Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone with his Grandpa, Jan (wife of Grandpa) and Jayce (brother) one of the plane tickets had a typo and his name appeared as Jacbo versus Jacob. This started everyone calling him Jacbo. On these family trips eating out is one of the things the four of us enjoy. At the end of each dining experience, we always ask Jacob to rate the restaurant. However, on this trip his Grandpa started asking, “How many Jacbo’s would you give this restaurant?”
This started the four of us talking about our dining experiences in Jacbo’s. By the end of the trip, we all decided we had to share this rating system with the world and “Jacbo Knows” was bom.

Where Every Bite Tells a Story

“Jacbo Knows” is a place for Adults (18 and up) and Teens (12 – 17) to talk about their dining experiences and rate the restaurants they dine in. As we build our dashboard site members will be able to view how Adults and Teens rate their restaurant experiences. Our goal is to assist multigenerational groups to select and enjoy restaurant experiences and make dining out a fun individual and family adventure.

Magnolia, Charleston, South Carolina

This was a memorable experience both for service and food. Homemade Pimento Cheese was good, but the PEI Mussels were a reason to go back. We asked for the mussels without coconut broth and the sauce was hard for Jacbo to stop dipping the warm crusty bread in. The Bourbon BBQ Glazed Pork Chop and Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast were especially tasty. We are heading back to Magnolia in 2025.

The Mint Bar & Grille, Livingston, Montana

While we were on vacation in Yellowstone, we were looking for good restaurants. We noticed a food and wine article about a small town with a wonderful array of restaurants close to where we were staying. https://www.foodandwine.com/livingston-montana-restaurants-7094893 Campione happened to be closed the night we were in Livingston, and we chose another recommendation “The Mint Bar & Grille,” 102 N Main St., Livingston, MT 59047. The four of us enjoyed our dinner with the BBQ Baby Back Ribs, Pork Chop with Apple/Onion Jam and Chicken Sammy being the favorites. For

We were looking for a lunch restaurant in Rapid City and happened upon Delmonico. What a stroke of luck. The Honey Bourbon Tenderloin appetizer, Prime Rib French Onion Dip and 609 Burger were all outstanding. The ambiance was unexpected and appreciated. We highly recommend it if you are in Rapid City.
